Vision
A traditional neighborhood development (TND) within minutes of the heart of Baton Rouge, Long Farm will offer a place to live, play, relax, shop, dine and work without leaving the community. Located near the new Woman’s Hospital between Highland Road and the future Pecue Lane Interchange, Long Farm residents and visitors will experience the feeling of small town life and community with the conveniences of the city.
A pedestrian scaled community composed of retail shops, offices, large and small single family houses, condominium lofts and an active adult focused neighborhood, Long Farm will offer the opportunity to live within walking distance of dining, shopping, fitness and neighborhood services. The community will gather around village greens, walking trails, lakes and community centers that will offer both nature and fellowship.
The village will contain a series of interconnected neighborhoods, each with a distinct architectural identity. The neighborhoods will offer a variety of residential house types and price points, from cottages and townhouses to courtyard houses and estate houses. With multiple entrance roads and a new boulevard that will extend Antioch Road from Jefferson Highway to Airline Highway, Long Farm will allow residents and visitors multiple choices for access and help to reduce traffic on adjacent regional roads and streets.
The village will highlight the culture and heritage of Louisiana while complementing the classic southern styles of the region. Architectural and landscape design guidelines and building standards will enhance the aesthetics of each home site while maintaining the quality and character of the neighborhoods.
Long Farm will be a place where life is enjoyed to its fullest, where memories are made, where friendships are created and where the natural beauty of south Louisiana is cherished. In the words of the late Senator Russell B. Long, it will be “paradise.”
